How to root our beloved Tecno Phantom 6 (A6)?
Things We Need:
>>Unlocking the Bootloader of the Tecno Phantom 6 http://www.//2016/10/how-to-successfully-unlock-tecno.html
>>Flashing the ported Hovatek TWRP recovery.img Download HERE
>> Flashing the SuperSU 2.76.zip Here
>>Download the Minimal ADB and Fastboot setup.exe from here
-Follow the Installers instructions and select where you would like to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too (For simplicity I choose to install it to the Desktop)
-After you have chosen where to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too select whether you would like to create a Start Menu Folder or not for the instalation
Once you have chosen where to install it to and if you want to create a Start Menu Folder select the install option
-After the Installation Wizard has completed you can select to start Minimal ADB and Fastboot
You can also start Minimal ADB and Fastboot by navigating to the Start Menu Folder you choose to create during installation or the desktop shortcut you choose to create and selecting Minimal ADB and Fastboot
-You should now see a command window open, with the command window open you can now issue ADB and Fastboot commands to your device
Steps by Steps:
Download TWRP for Tecno Phantom 6 (A6) ported by Team Hovatek
Extract TWRP recovery.img into the same folder we setup our adb/fastboot minimal tool
Download SuperSU above and Copy SuperSU.zip to internal storage Connect the phone to the PC via USB cord and boot it into Fastboot by
goin to settings>> click on developer option and enable OEM unlocking.
then type in command and hit enter via your adb and fastboot folder
adb reboot-bootloaderPhone will now reboot to Fastboot,
>>Flashing TWRP recovery to the phone by typing the command below then pressing Enter
fastboot boot recovery.img
It will automatically boot into TWRP recovery mode.
>>Flashing SuperSU2.76.zip while still in TWRP recovery mode,select Install Navigate to the location of the SuperSU2.76.zip and select it
Swipe to confirm flashing of SuperSU.zip and wait till flashing is complete
Reboot the phone your done :)
Note: if you get a prompt asking you to swipe to allow modification of the System partition, tap KEEP READ ONLY
- prompt to root the phone, select NO
